Super Stars Basketball Rules & Regulations
TOURNAMENT RULES
It will be each team's responsibility to check bracketing posted on the internet and at the Gym for updated game schedules and game times. Game times are subject to change.
Unless other wise noted National Federation of High School official basketball rules will be used.
- A player may only play on one team per age division.
- For Grades 4 through 8
Games will be 7 minute quarters. Running clock except for the following: Clock will stop for shooting fouls throughout the game and for every whistle during the last 30 seconds of the first, second and third quarters and for the last two minutes of the fourth quarter. The clock will not stop during the last two minutes of the game if one team holds a 20 point or greater lead at that time.
For High School Varsity and JV Games will be 16 minute halves. Running clock except for the following: Clock will stop for shooting fouls and for every whistle during the last two minutes of each half. The clock will not stop during the last two minutes of the game if one team holds a 20 point or greater lead at that time.
- Teams cannot press with a 20 point or over lead.
- Teams are allowed 3 time outs per game. Time outs are not accumulated into overtime periods. One additional time out per overtime period. Time outs are 1 minute.
- All substitutes shall report to the scorers table and wait for the official to motion the players onto the court. The buzzer alerts the official of a substitute waiting, but is not the signal for the player to run onto the court.
- One minute between quarters and 3 minutes at half time.
- Overtime:
1st overtime: Three minutes. Stop clock for everything the last minute. One time out allowed per team.
2nd overtime: Two minutes. Stop clock for everything the last minute. One time out allowed per team.
3rd overtime: Sudden death. First team to score. One time out
- Technical fouls for Players:
1st - Two penalty shots and player is out for 3 minutes.
2nd - Two penalty shots and player and Coach is out for the remainder of the game and may be (at the official or Tournament Directors discretion) ejected for the remainder of the tournament.
- Technical fouls for the Coach:
1st - Two penalty shots and coach must remain seated on the bench for the remainder of the game.
2nd - Two penalty shots and the Coach will be (at the officials or Tournament Directors discretion) either removed from the bench area or removed from the gym.
No protests will be allowed. The decisions of the game referees are final.
Team coaches are responsible for the sportsmanlike conduct of their players, fans, and others associated with their team. Any coach, player or fan that is ejected shall leave the gym immediately for the remainder of that game.
Spectators who display inappropriate behavior as deemed so by the gym supervisor will be asked to leave the gym. Further action may be warranted and imposed by the Gym Supervisor.
Any situation or disputes that arise that are not covered by the High School rules or the above exceptions and points of emphasis will be dealt with by the Gym Supervisor.
Judgement calls by the Officials are final and cannot be appealed by any coach or player.
